A former adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin talked about Thursday the prisoner swap that despatched Brittney Griner once more to the US in alternate for arms vendor Viktor Bout was a win for Moscow — and made America look weak.

“Putin outplayed Biden,” Sergei Markov wrote in a scathing submit on his Telegram channel.

Bout, within the meantime, is a notorious Russian arms vendor nicknamed the “Merchant of Death” who had been in US custody since 2008. He was convicted in 2011 of conspiring to advertise tens of tons of of hundreds of {{dollars}} worth of weapons for use in direction of Americans by narco-terrorists and was in the middle of a 25-year federal jail sentence.
